The watch has been serviced in our service center (routine servicing). The explorer 2 with reference 16570 was produced by Rolex between 1989 and 2011. Throughout this period there have been small changes that have led to 4 different versions between the beginning and the end of production. The specimen for sale is the most sought after among collectors, both for the white dial, but above all for the “Swiss” writing at 6 o’clock. In 1998 Rolex ceased the use of Tritium lume in favor of Luminova. These watches are a rare middle-sibling within the 16570 reference. When you hear the term “Swiss Only” with Rolex, it means that the dial has “SWISS” printed at the six o’clock position of the dial. This is found in the 1998 model year 16570s and ran into 1999 (some A-serial numbers).
