Considered by many to be the Rolex par excellence, the Air King enhances the most typical Rolex style: the Oyster case. This model in its essentiality emphasizes those forms precisely because it does not have any additional function, nor does it play any role outside the “minimum” of the timepiece. Moreover, it is a “universal model”, it really represents a “classic” oriented to the “dress-watch”. At the same time, however, with the proverbial strength and impermeability, it also lends itself naturally to a more dynamic and sporty use. The size of the case is the “first” for men but it is also perfect on female wrists. The Air King represents the junction point between the “classic” and the professional models. Although, belonging to the first category, it is the basis for the second, the proof lies, first of all, in the movement: that inserted in the Air-King ref. 14000 is the same as the one mounted on the Explorer 1 ref. 14270 and on the Submariner no date ref. 14060.
