The Omega Speedmaster is recognized by enthusiasts around the world as “The Moon Watch”. It was the only watch out of 12 brands to pass NASA’s tests for use in space. One of OMEGA’s most iconic timepieces. Having been a part of all six lunar missions, the legendary Speedmaster is an impressive representation of the brand’s adventurous pioneering spirit. The watch for sale, with reference 311.30.42.30.01.006, produced by Omega between 2014 and 2021, is also known as the “Sapphire Sandwich”, thanks to its case with a visible case back on the movement. Omega introduced the first Speedmaster Professional with a display back, available only for the Apollo XI numbered edition in 18K gold with the reference 345.0802, in 1980. Over the years, Omega has produced its “Sapphire Sandwiches” on various models of Speedmaster Professional, all rigorously with the iconic hand-wound Omega caliber. This watch is powered by the OMEGA mechanical caliber 1863, visible in all its glory through the transparent case back.
