The Carrera collection, like other Heuer/TAG Heuer collections, takes its name from a motorsport event or location. Names like Monaco, Monza, Silverstone, are all “legendary” names of collections inspired by the world of motorsports. The TAG Heuer Carrera is named after the Carrera Panamericana, a gruelling border-to-border road-racing event held in Mexico from 1950 to 1954. TAG Heuer launched the Carrera collection in 1963, and 60 years since its debut, the collection is alive and well.
