The Omega Speedmaster Day-Date, also known as the Triple-Date or Mk40, was introduced by Omega around 1996 and has now been discontinued for over 15 years. Compared to the classic 42 mm Speedmaster Professional with manual winding, it is a bit smaller, 39 mm case without crown, but the most visually important difference compared to a normal Moonwatch is its dial, where the indicators are placed: day, date, month and 24 hours. Powered by the Omega 1151 automatic caliber, the Speedmaster Day-Date Mk40 is an attractive alternative for those looking for a “reduced” with its own “personality” that sets it apart from the Speedmaster professional at first glance.
