The Omega Speedmaster Date, compared to the classic 42mm manual-winding Speedmaster Professional, is slightly smaller, with a 40mm case excluding the crown. However, the most significant differences from a regular Moonwatch lie in its dial, featuring a date complication, and its movement. No longer equipped with the traditional manual-winding movement of the Moonwatch, it now houses the Omega 1164 automatic caliber, certified as a chronometer. The Speedmaster Date presents an intriguing alternative for those seeking a “reduced” version with its own distinctive personality that sets it apart from the Speedmaster Professional. The Omega Speedmaster Date with reference number 3210.52.00 boasts an additional characteristic that makes it highly coveted among enthusiasts worldwide: its unique dial. The dial showcases red and black markers at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock, reminiscent of the colors and design found on a roulette wheel.
