Info
Now out of production for over 10 years, introduced in 1988 and produced until 2010, the Omega Speedmaster Reduced, with a case diameter of 39mm, among the various watches in the Omega Speedmaster collection, was sold as the smallest version of the Speedy. The Speedmaster Reduced is also sometimes referred to as the Speedmaster Automatic because it has a self-winding automatic movement at its core! This, in addition to the size, is the most important difference with the classic Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, famous for its traditional hand-wound caliber. The watch for sale was produced between 1988 and 1989, in addition to its beautiful tritium dial with aged cream-colored indexes, it has a very rare feature present only at the beginning of the “reduced” production: the serial number is not engraved outside the case back but it is printed and inside the case back (see photo). The movement, another rare feature, is the “gilt” Omega caliber 1140, which has been completely overhauled at an authorized Omega service centre. The whole thing is completed by the Omega reference 1469 bracelet with 811 ends, which also fits very well with extra large wrists, in fact the bracelet has 25 links, 1 more than the complete bracelet (24 links)!
